Tuff Cave (Mahkemeağacı Village)Scientific and application chapters of the Kızılcahamam - Çamlıdere Geopark and Geotourism Project (KÇJJP) have been prepared by departments of Ankara University with the contributions of the Turkish Association for Conservation of Geologic Heritage - JEMİRKO). Rectorship enlarged the project and decided to be useful to execute it together with the relevant institutions, and “The Geotourism Project Collaboration Protocol” was contracted with the Kızılcahamam Municipality firstly (13 November 2009). Shortly after, the Kızılcahamam District Governorship and Çamlıdere District Governorship have joined with the project as a partner. In addition, it was requested to support the project from the Ankara Governorship, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and some other public institutions, and all of them have declared that they would provide physical and moral support with pleasure. Alicin Monastery (Çeltikçi) The project has an expert research group briefly constituted by earth and environmental scientists. This group has almost completed the scientific researches, and nowadays they are updating their personal investigations and preparing brochures for each stop point and books. Additionally, they are responsible for realizing the further phase works in the geoparks and for the project development. It has been planned to complete the first stage of 23 stops of the project in 16 months and to organize the opening ceremony at 16th July 2010, at the date that Atatürk firstly visited Kızılcahamam. The project is executed by a “Coordination Group” constituted from six members appointed by the relevant associations and institutions, three from the Ankara University and three from the Kızılcahamam Municipality. The expert earth and environmental scientists, that most of them are the members of JEMİRKO, have actively worked in every stages of the project.
